An Extra Boost
Here is a truth about me and being organized, the better I feel the more likely I am to keep my organizing systems going. Frankly, it doesn't take much to get me off track; colder and darker days, an unwelcome bill, the fact that it's Tuesday...
Anyway.
What's the secret to getting back on the horse? It's not really a secret, and it can be hard. Are you ready? You just do it. Yup. It's that simple.
I know it's hard, these are the times when tricks don't work. You simply have to tell yourself, "I am a capable adult. There is nothing in this pile that can hurt me. I will do this because I am responsible. I will do this." And then you have to do it.
The days when we "just don't want to" are by far the most daunting for those of us who struggle. We need the extra boost of an internal pep talk, "I am a capable adult. There is nothing in this pile that can hurt me. I will do this because I am responsible. I will do this."
Next time you're feeling down, or stuck, try giving yourself this little talk. Then get up off your chair and do it.
Life without procrastination is bliss.
Tricky Duck Tip: Keep trying, never give up.
