When I have overnight company I clean the guest room, make up the bed with fresh sheets and put out clean towels. Done. There are no:
- Fresh flowers
- Current magazines
- Notepaper, envelopes and stamps
- New toiletries
- Snacks in the room
- A carafe of water with drinking glass
My sister and her husband are coming to spend the night. As I was getting the room together I was thinking it looked pretty good and how lucky I am to have a dedicated guest room. I suppose I should feel like a slacker, according the things I've been reading, but I don't. Somehow, I'm pretty sure they'll still feel welcome.
Life with good company is bliss.
Tricky Duck Tip: Keep no more than two sets of sheets for each bed, four sets if you switch to flannel in the winter.
