A Little Holiday Rant

It's the cranky time of year, the Holidays.  Yes, I know it's only November 11, which is all part of the crankiness.  Last year I made my crankiness public and swore off silly decorating and non-consumable gifts.  I will continue in the same vein.

So, I've started the whole gift shopping saga and am feeling pretty darn smug about it.  Then I saw the website for 100 Days to Christmas.  It's a site that reminds you what you should be doing each day for the 100 days before Christmas.  They will also send inspirational emails to keep you excited for the holidays.  Not so smug anymore, I've already missed more than half of the 100 days!  As an organizer I suppose I should be all over this site.  It is, after all, a big old To  Do List.  And what professional organizer doesn't love a To Do List?

But, really?  Three point two five months to get ready for  Christmas?

Ok.  Deep breath.  Relax.

I concede it could be just me, but the idea of simpler holidays by doing less, instead of 100 days of preparation, seems like a better option.  Now, calm down,  you don't have to decide anything today, but just think what it could be like.  A slower pace, less stuff.  Yeah, just think about it.

Life with simple actually Happy Holidays is bliss.

Tricky Duck Tip:  Talk to your family, find out what's truly important and ditch the rest.
