Resolutions Are Good.
I like New Years Resolutions. The New Year is the perfect time to reflect and plan how to make life better, ergo, make a resolution.
This year, however, I'm taking a little different approach. I actually do have two resolutions and they are whoppers. Aside from that my idea is I'm making a fresh start. With every thought I had yesterday, New Years Day, I asked myself, "Is that how I want to start the new year?" For instance, I caught myself thinking I'd leave the bed unmade because I was having a vacation day. That notion was followed by the question, "Is that how you want to start the new year, sloppy?". Well. No. I made the bed.
The sum of the day is I'll be neat, eating healthy, and not whining or procrastinating. Not a bad start if I do say so myself.
My big whopper of a resolution is to stop worrying. The other, littler, whopper is to not be complacent. Yup.
There's only one way I can think of to tackle these two resolutions, and that's one day at a time. Ties in pretty neatly with the other, don't you think? So, over and over again, I'll be asking myself if I can control what I'm worrying about. If I can't I will let it go. I'll be asking myself if my situation of that minute lends itself to the life I want to live. If not, I'll let it go. I'll question my decisions, am I really living the way I want to?
How long I can keep this up remains to be seen, so far the worrying thing has been going on for three days, the rest just 24 hours. I'm happy to say I'm trying.
Life with goals is bliss.
Tricky Duck Tip: Using your calendar, create a plan to make your resolution happen. Oh yes you can!
