More About Light

I've got more to say about light, specifically, how much I like it.

Have you seen the halogen hockey puck lights?  A friend of ours installed some over our kitchen counter years ago.  So long ago they weren't available in Fargo.  Our friend brought them back from California, he got them at an exotic store called Home Depot.  Like I said, it was years ago.

Anyway.  I LOVE those lights.  I can see well enough to read recipes, always good, and measure accurately when cooking.  Again, always good.  Eventually they burned out, too much use I'm sure.  As much as I loved those lights the light bulbs were a total pain to change.  I had to unscrew the covers and the screws were very, very, tiny.  Changing the bulbs involved me laying on the counter top on my back and hoping for the best.  Good thing those halogen bulbs last a while.

When the lights gave out I popped over to my neighborhood Home Depot and got me some new ones.  This time I installed them myself.  The Chief stayed out of my way, largely due to the cussing and unladylike tantrums.  But I got the job done and again, I LOVE those lights.

The other day a bulb burned out.  These new lights are so much better!  Instead of the screw deal they just twist off.  It took seconds to change the bulb.  It was fantastic!

The point?  Light is good.  Getting more light is better.  These little lights made all the difference in how I feel about the time I spend in the kitchen.  Often I will leave these lights on during a dark evening as kind of a night light.  You should get some.  If you can install them without cussing and tantrums, good for you.

Life with light is bliss.

Tricky Duck Tip:  Look for places in your home that will be more welcoming by adding a lamp or easy to install lights.
